THIS SPRING AND SUMMER IS ALL ABOUT TAKING A BIG STEP IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION, MIXING THE SHEEK WITH THE GEEK, AND THE SEXY WITH THE SPORTY. WHILE SHOPPING YOUR BOUND TO COME ACROSS THE BOLD NEONS THAT WILL BE PAIRED WONDERFULLY WITH OUR NEUTRAL TONES. PAIR A NEON YELLOW CARDIGAN WITH A CREAMY COLORED SATIN BLOUSE OR DRESS. DO SHORT SHORTS WITH A TAILORED VEST OR A THREE-QUARTER LENGTH TAILORED JACKET. MOST IMPORTANTLY DON'T BE AFRAID TO ACCESSORIZE...ADD POPS OF COLOR TO YOUR GRAYS AND OTHER DRAB TONES, TRY CHUNKY NECKLACES, CRAZY HEADBANDS(MY FAVORITE), AND PRINTED HANDBAGS. FELLAS I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT YOU, THIS SPRING/SUMMER DO NOT BE SHY WHEN IT COMES TO COLOR. ADD COLOR WITH MAYBE A PAIR OF CRAZY COLORED CLASSIC RAY-BANS, A NICE WATCH, OR EVEN BOLD COLORED CARDIGAN ON ONE OF THOSE COOL SPRING NIGHTS. JUST REMEMBER WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE THIS SEASON OWN IT!

BEYOND EVERYTHING ELSE SUPERFICIAL.......

YEAH WE ALL LIKE TO LOOK OUR BEST BUT BEYOND OUR CLOTHING, HAIR, AND ATTITUDE THERE STILL LIES A HUMAN BEING. EVERYONE NOT JUST ME IS ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THE NEXT PERSON LOOKS LIKE, WHAT HE OR SHE HAS UP ON THE NEXT PERSON AND RARELY TAKES THE TIME TO LOOK PAST OUR SURFACE. \ˌsü-pər-ˈfi-shəl\ DEFINED AS CONCERNED ONLY WITH THE OBVIOUS, NO DEEPER THAN THE SURFACE. LIVING IN THIS SUPERFICIAL SOCIETY ALL WE CAN DO IS BE POSITIVE AND BE COMFORTABLE WITH WHO WE ARE AND WHO YOU WERE CREATED TO BE. ITS SO EASY TO FALL INTO THE TRAP OF BEING FAKE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR WORRIED ABOUT IF THE NEXT PERSON WILL EXCEPT YOU. WE MUST STOP LIVING LIFE USING OTHER PEOPLE TO GIVE OURSELVES VAIN SELF-IMPORTANCE. I CAN HONESTLY ADMIT I FALL SHORT OF ALL THESE THINGS AND AT THE END OF IT ALL ITS HAS BEEN SIMPLY SAID TIME AND TIME AGAIN "BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!"

INVEST IN YOUR CLOTHING PEOPLE......

Clothing is a big investment, its something you have to wear everyday so making sure you buy good quality pieces is important. There is nothing wrong with buying into trends which is what people in my age group do but, make sure the item you buy is not poorly constructed. Affordable, trendy, and well manufactured pieces can be found in stores like tjmaxx, century 21, daffy's, nordstroms rack, off saks fifth, and the discounted neiman marcus stores but, be prepared to have some time on your hands to hunt. For the plus size women all these stores have plus size departments with plenty to choose from. People can always tell whether you chose to invest into your clothing by the fit and quality of it. Now I'm not saying go out and spend your whole pay check but be conscious of your clothing choices, instead of buying that same white blouse or button down shirt five times over you could buy one well manufactured shirt that's going to last longer than that cheap one. Last but, not least like I stated previously before there is nothing wrong with following trends but, also try and find your own style. OWNING WHAT YOU WEAR IS THE KEY.....

HOW IT IS TO BE ME.....

Living in a society where images are everything I find my self as a plus size female still able to keep up with the joneses. I pride myself in appearance first and personality last(which isn't good at times). I've heard that I may come off as cocky, stuck up, having the nerve to have the attiude I have for the size that I am, and the list goes on. But in all actuality I am just a very confident "big girl". Is it a crime to have that much self-love? Last time I checked the answer to that question is no. I have found myself to be the most honest person you will meet, I don't hold anything back what for. I say it when I feel its needed to be said and how I feel it should be said. One thing I am not gonna apologize for is being me, yeah we all need tweeks but I am still working on mine.....
